For me, Christmas is a time to remember the gospel. Without the coming of Christ Jesus in the flesh to be the Mediator between God and man, there would be no gospel. It is only because of Christ that we who were once not God’s people are now God’s people. And as this is the greatest blessing that anyone can receive, I am thankful for the gift of God’s Son and his calling above anything else in life–and I am one very, very greatly blessed individual!!!
This is what Christmas is about–this is why we celebrate this Christmas season: God taking manhood upon himself for the redemption of his chosen people…
“‘Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.’ All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: ‘Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel’ (which mean, God with us).” ~Matthew 1:20-23
Therefore, rejoice, Christian, rejoice and be glad, for the God who keeps his word has come!!!
