Many thanks to God above
Rise from my tongue, full of love;
For who can know his mercies
And not return to him praises?
O God! Be not far from me!
May I ever be enabled to see
Thy love, truth, grace, peace,
Compassion, justice–to never cease!
Let me then ever sing
Unto Thee, my eternal King;
That my tongue may ever be
Lifted in thanksgiving to Thee!
Though my rhymes be rough and poor,
Within them my heart dost soar
To worship Thee, my Father above,
Savior, Redeemer, and King of Love!
